Coming Soon – General Practice Alert System (GPAS)
Liverpool LMC, along with many other LMCs in England, will be introducing a General Practice Alert System which is designed to alert the local health economy on workload pressures in General Practice. It will work in a similar manner to the alert system used by the community and Secondary Care system in which they send out alerts when Trusts or services are under severe pressure. For this to work in General Practice, colleagues will be asked to complete a 4 question survey, anonymously, on a weekly basis, on matters related to workforce and workload. The information will be aggregated to provide information, on a South, Central and North locality basis, on how practices are coping with what they are dealing with. The information will be presented anonymously, apart from being on a locality basis, so that colleagues can provide an honest appraisal of what they are facing without fear of reprisal. More information on GPAS will be circulated nearer to the time that it is ready to be introduced.
